Next Up: Internship Program

Next Up: Internship Program

The Next Up: Internship Program is an extensive internship program for undergraduate students who are interested in deepening their leadership identity and further practicing their commitment to service. Interns play an integral role in peer-to-peer leadership education, serve as Bobcat Break trip leaders, and are the undergraduate student voice within the Leadership & Service area’s programming and services.

Responsibilities of a Next Up Intern include (but are not limited to)...

Interns taking a picture after volunteering at the Five Mile Dam Watershed
  • Facilitate leadership workshops for departments or student organizations that aid in the leadership development of other Bobcats
  • Fulfill the duties as a student trip leader for the Bobcat Break experiences (with all trip fees waived) including facilitating small team meetings with participants, assisting with pre-trip preparation, and other duties
  • Serve as the “service liaison” between the Leadership and Service area and and community service partners to help coordinate, promote, and recruit volunteers for various service projects
  • Attend LeaderShape in the summer and/or student leadership-oriented conferences or campus to continue your development and knowledge of leadership practices
  • Be the undergraduate student voice for the Leadership and Service area of Student Involvement

And more!

Peer-to-Peer Presentations

If you’re looking for someone to facilitate a leadership development workshop, activity, or just to simply let students know what opportunities are available to them through the Leadership & Service area, our Next Up Interns are available to present in-person to your student group! You can select a presentation from our current list of offerings or request a custom presentation.

This service will be available soon!
